Great Seal of the European Federation by HouseOfHesse Great Seal of the European Federation by HouseOfHesse
Seal of the hypothetical European Federation. The eagle is an allusion to the Holy Roman Empire, the crown representing sovereignty (rather than a monarchy), the stars as a symbol of unity (as featured on the flag) and the motto of 'Unity in Diversity'.

Ah! The double eagle! Just like the one used as a symbol of the Hapsburg dynasty! And In the Eastern lodge of Freemasonry!

Did Prussia have this same eagle, but one headed?

almost every country in europa took the roman eagle as their national coat,  hre before 1400 had a single headed eagle then they took the the eastern roman empire eagle in 1400

serbia double headed eagle, albania and so on also took their eagle from the eastern roman empire

But I would like a European Federal Monarchy. With me as emperor preferably. ;)

I actually have a plan in the works for the role of the former European monarchies within the Federation, so watch this space!

the eagle was also the coat of arms of the bizantine empire (eastern roman empire)

And the Roman Empire too! So yeah, two headed eagles have lots of significance right across Europe, hence my decision to use one!

Interesting. Looks good. I just think it's a shame that we should loose our heraldic tradition to the American seals :c

Aye, it seems that seals are the 'new heraldry' if you will. I can kind of see why with heraldry historically representing landed titles, which obviously have no real place in republics, but it is still a shame to lose them. But the similarities between the Federation's seal and the US' is a subtle nod to the ties between the two.

*chokes* no place in republics?! *faints*
Meh, if it was up to me and if we didn't need them I would sever those ties . . .
Also, it's interesting to see a pro-EU Brit :D

Also, do you think I could ask something of you? ^^;

Same! I like to think that the EF, with its substantial clout, would be able to do that more effectively than we can currently.
There are actually a fair few of us! We're just drowned out by the gullible rabble of The Sun and Daily Mail readers, the vast majority of whom don't actually know a great deal about what they're on about and just fall for the ill-placed faux-patriotism of poorly written tabloids and UKIP. It makes me sad.
Of course, ask away!

Well then, huraaah for the EF and (hopefully) for a soon-to-be flag change! :D

I guess so :c And it's hard being a monarchist in the EU these days . . .

Well, sorry to bother you with this but do you think you could vote on this?
I am trying to get more people to notice . . .

Oh, and as a fellow monarchist, I definitely understand your woes! *cue internal struggle*
I actually have a plan for the role of almost all former European monarchies in the Federation, I just need to figure out how to make it presentable!

Yeah :S A country which has been a republic for a hundred years, which has gone through communism and who's last monarchs are today considered as those "bloody Habsburgs" will find it hard to return to a monarchy.

Yes please! :D How about an Emperor/Empress of Europa? The kings and Grand Dukes, etc. can swear loyalty to him/her? :D

Voila! As promised, my plan for the European monarchies: houseofhesse.deviantart.com/ar…
Sadly not political, merely advisory, but my inner monarchist wouldn't let me sweep them aside without so much as a consideration! You'll be pleased to see the Habsburgs in there I imagine!
