Description

Taking a brief break from my current series on irredentism, I decided to mark the occasion of there being 1 month until the Catalan independence referendum (if it goes ahead, as I hope it will) with a map showing my hopes for an independent state encompassing all of the Catalan-speaking countries in Iberia. Though I have absolutely no connection with the Països Catalans that I know of, I fully support the calls for independence from the Catalan regions, and hope that some sort of agreement between the Spanish and Catalan governments can be reached to allow the Catalan people the right to determine their futures.

I also made a set of flags and a Wikipedia-style country info-box to go along with this map.

" (if it goes ahead, as I hope it will)" And who are you to get involved in an internal issue that affects us Spaniards? Thank goodness that the majority of Catalans are not separatists (but of course, knowing non-independence Catalans doesn't interest you, right?). I have no problem with you making maps of alternative history and invented countries (in fact, in the purely artistic aspect, it has turned out quite well), but another thing is if you start wishing for the destruction of the unity of my country, which I do not consent to anyone, whether Spanish or foreign.


I hope that in these 10 years that have passed since then (and where the pantomime that has been the circus of the independentists has been demonstrated) you have reflected and do not support a cause as disgusting as that again: one of the main arguments of the separatists It was (and is) to despise the rest of us Spaniards as inferior beings and lazy people who don't work and who live off their money (which is not true).
